29th October 2020, up to 50 artists and organisations took part in our online launch of the Good Practice Charter, a set of 6 principles organisations sign up to and work towards. Download it here GPC
Chaired by AUE member Ekua Bayunu, speakers at the event included Dominic Bascombe, NE Equity, stating the GPC identified key issues effecting artists, while setting standards for employers to understand.
Jamie Driscoll, North of Tyne Mayor, pointed out the strength of trade unions working alongside employers, while Claire Murphy-Morgan of Monkfish Production saw the GPC as an opportunity to align the organisation with the core principles of the charter. This was echoed by Emma Beverly, Director of East Street Studios who saw the GPC as a road map for ESA.
A full report will follow shortly.
