Remembering Al-Mutanabbi Street

March 5, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Artists Union England & the Multicultural Integration Centre come together to Remember Al-Mutanabbi Street, the heart & soul of the Baghdad literary & intellectual community with an evening of Arabic poetry, dance, live music and food!. This is a FREE event, but pay what you feel! Book your ticket HERE

On 5th March 2007, a car bomb exploded on Al-Mutanabbi Street in Baghdad, killing 30 people and wounding more than 100.

This evening event celebrates Iraqi & Arabic culture through poetry, music & art and remembers those who have died.

Pick up handmade screen printed bags, poetry zines and mini-artwork and support a growing trade union.  Funded by Union Learn, the event is an opportunity to learn a new dance, read some poetry, find out about the work of AUE and enjoy some good food!
