The GPC is a set of six principles Arts & Cultural Organisations sign up to and work towards. These principles act as a framework of minimum terms and standards for artists.
AUE member Aidan Moesby described the charter as “demonstrating the role of the artist in the ecology of cultural organisations, it is a way of valuing artists. It recognises the contribution that artists make and is a way of insuring artists are treated fairly.”
Open to artists and organisations, this launch is a great way to find out more and how to sign up to the charter.
North of Tyne Mayor, Jamie Driscoll and North East Regional Organiser Equity, Dominic Bascombe will be speaking as well as Claire Murphy-Morgan, Artistic Director Monkish Productions and Emma Beverly Director East Street Arts.
Beth Farhat, Northern Regional TUC Secretary described the charter as “AUE’s standards, values and worth”.
