The Artists’ Union England is delighted to announce that as of February 2016 we will be working with Morrish Solicitors to offer our members free legal advice and personal injury service.

The then-Chair of the Artists’ Union England, Hayley Hare explained:

‘I am so pleased to announce our relationship with Morrish Solicitors. Having the facility to advise our members professionally is a great step forward for the Artists Union England. This is a service members have been asking for since the formation of the Union and we are proud to have listened to their voices and proactively responded’.

We believe that this is an essential and important benefit to offer to the AUE membership – in order to support individuals working as ‘professional artists’ in today’s society.

The Artists’ Union England is a new trade union for professional visual and applied artists.

Artists’ Union England was publicly launched in May 2014 by a cross section of artists from across the country, in response to an evident need for representation from a trade union. Unlike other cultural professionals artists have had no collective voice in the form of a trade union to represent them at work, and to lobby and advocate on their behalf.

As a trade union we aim to represent artists at strategic decision-making levels and positively influence the value and role artists play within society.
