The last Yorkshire and Humber TUC AGM agreed to support the establishment and development of the Show Culture Some Love Campaign in Yorkshire and the Humber by building links between entertainment unions and unions organising workers in libraries, museums, art galleries and other cultural organisations.

One of the ideas that was discussed at our first meeting in June was the publication of a Yorkshire and the Humber Cultural Manifesto prior to the May 2018 Council Elections. This would follow the work of the Midlands TUC Creative and Leisure Industries Committee which published a Cultural Manifesto prior to the 2017 Mayoral and Local Government Elections. Another suggestion at the meeting was to run a Show Culture Some Love stall at the YHTUC 2018 AGM.

In London and the Midlands Love Culture, Love Culture Unions events have been staged on 14 February as part of the TUC’s Heart Unions Week. Show Culture Some Love, London, Feb 14 2017 Can we organise a similar event in our region in 2018?
